Brazil’s Gas Production Grew in November

Brazil's natural gas available to buyers rose by 13pc in November to 61.73mn m3/d (28.32mn Bcf/d) compared to the same month last year, as the country continued to rely heavily on thermoelectric power generation, even with the beginning of the rainy season.

Available natural gas was up by 8.1pc compared to previous month's levels, according to preliminary data from Brazil's oil and gas regulator ANP.

Total Brazilian natural gas production was up on yearly and monthly basis of 8.1pc and 3.7pc, respectively, at 136.58mn m3/d.

Gas reinjection in November increased by 4.2pc from a year earlier, to 5.42mn m3/d, and was up by just 0.1pc against the previous month.

Flaring was up by 21pc compared to the November 2020, and down by 13pc compared to October, at 3.79mn m3/d.

Gas consumption on production platforms was up by 5.8pc yearly at 14.23mn m3/d, and up by 10pc from the prior month.
