據(jù)海上能源4月17日?qǐng)?bào)道，卡塔爾國(guó)有能源巨頭卡塔爾能源公司和納米比亞礦業(yè)和能源部簽署了一份諒解備忘錄，旨在加強(qiáng)在能源領(lǐng)域的合作。

旨在為繼續(xù)合作鋪平道路的該諒解備忘錄，涵蓋知識(shí)共享、勞動(dòng)力發(fā)展和探索在納米比亞的進(jìn)一步投資機(jī)會(huì)等領(lǐng)域。

卡塔爾能源事務(wù)國(guó)務(wù)大臣、卡塔爾能源公司首席執(zhí)行官Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi和納米比亞共和國(guó)礦業(yè)和能源部長(zhǎng)Tom Alweendo在卡塔爾能源公司多哈總部舉行的簽字儀式上簽署了該協(xié)議。

這家卡塔爾能源巨頭持有納米比亞近海三個(gè)勘探許可區(qū)的權(quán)益，包括PEL-39油田45%的權(quán)益、PEL-56油田30%的權(quán)益和PEL-91油田28.33%的權(quán)益，總面積超過2.8萬平方公里。

QatarEnergy and Namibia’s ministry ink deal for energy cooperation

Qatar’s state-owned energy giant QatarEnergy and Namibia’s Ministry of Mines and Energy have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the aim of strengthening cooperation in the energy sector.

The MoU, said to pave the way for continued cooperation, covers areas such as knowledge sharing, workforce development and exploring further investment opportunities in Namibia.

The agreement was signed by Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi, Qatar’s Minister of State for Energy Affairs, the President and CEO of QatarEnergy, and Tom Alweendo, Minister of Mines and Energy of the Republic of Namibia, in a signing ceremony held at QatarEnergy’s headquarters in Doha.

“We are pleased to further enhance our cooperation with the Government of Namibia and build on our recent successes. This agreement further strengthens our relationship as we work jointly towards a prosperous future,” said Minister Al-Kaabi.

QatarEnergy recently announced a light oil discovery in the Jonker-1X well in the Orange Basin offshore southern Namibia, adding to the previous two separate oil and associated gas discoveries in the same basin last year.

The Qatari energy giant holds interests in three exploration licenses offshore Namibia, including 45 per cent in PEL-39, 30 per cent in PEL-56, and 28.33 per cent in PEL-91, covering a total area of over 28,000 km2.

In terms of other recent activities, it is worth noting that at the end of March QatarEnergy entered into a farm-in agreement for two exploration licenses offshore Newfoundland and Labrador in Canada with ExxonMobil.

The deal is said to allow the Qatari player to expand its offshore exploration portfolio in Atlantic Canada.
